TH007: Update

We've been hard at work. Things are finally coming together. I'm getting a bit more optimistic about how well we'll be pulling this off.

Captains have received briefings and been given teams with contact information. They should have or should be in the process of contacting all of you very soon. They don't know very much more than you do right now, but will be receiving briefings towards the beginning of next week.

We'll be posting a more complete to-bring list shortly, and your captains will also be talking to you about proper "treasure hunt etiquette." For now, we want to stress that everyone who can bring a car should. Your captains will be pleased. Also, for the love of God, wear shoes. Not sandals or flip-flops. Shoes and good socks will be your best friend. We cannot stress this enough. Tennis shoes for climbing and clambering and running. Appropriate clothing for these activities is also recommended.

Good luck and we look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.

My take on the treasure hunt:

Tay and Jason, you guys tried something new, and you put a hell of a lot of work into it, and for that I salute you.

As an informant, I was unsatisfied with my role as it was planned. We didn't have enough information (which is kind of important when you're an informant), we weren't invited to the drop zones (although we might have brought that upon ourselves), and working alone just wasn't functional, or fun.

I really can't comment on how fun the hunt was for everyone else. In fact, I imagine that for some fresh-scrubbed first-timer, this was probably a pretty good time. And to be fair, we informants probably weren't going to have that great of a time anyways; we're kinda jaded when it comes to t-hunts.

Luckily, we were able to make our own fun at the expense of others. That NEVER gets old.

Anyways: who won?

while things did end up in the shitter a bit, i felt that despite the mishaps, it was an overall good time, especially the romp through the woods. overall, im glad i was a captain and happy with the treasure hunt.

overall t-hunt record: 2-2
